Don't Hassel The Hoff!

I know, I know, but I couldn't resist! It's so bad and cheesy, that it actually is a lot of fun to watch. No, really! Ladies and sinners, here's David Hasselhoff. Enjoy 'till your eyes bleed.

Would you like some tequila while you watch your movie?

Go Mexico! Check these new trailers, the first one, Children of Men by Mexican Director Alfonso Cuaron (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) and the second one, The Science of Sleep, with Gael Garcia Bernal (Y tu mama tambien), Mexican hunk who has proved that not all Mexicans speak English with a terrible accent. Both movies seem really interesting, and I can't wait to see them. And yes, I'm sorry, it makes me proud to know that at least a couple of Mexicans are making the film industry a little more interesting. =)

I really need to think about going to the Comic-Con someday...

First times are not always that nice

Ahoy! Now is the time for Captain Ms. Mysterious to rant about her sailing adventure with her faithful matey Mr. Marshmallow! Yaaarrr!
Yes, I do a lousy pirate talk. And I am also a lousy pirate at sea. WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

So, to make this story short: First time sailing. I'm a terrible swimmer and I hardly go to the beach. But hey, since I'm in Kangarooland, I have to get to know a little of this forsaken country. We set sails from Airlie Beach in a boat called Anaconda III along with 36 people, (including some sexy crew members). From there we sailed to the Whitsundays Islands, where we set foot in some beautiful beaches and did some snorkeling. But the big prize was to snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef, which it wasn't assured we could get there, because of the harsh weather. But alas! our adventurous captain took us there and we managed to see some of the best fishes, corals and all the rest of the creepy underwater thingies. And yes, we had a greaat time. (Of course all of this was before I realized I was terribly sea sick and spent the rest of my trip dizzy and nauseous) Still, in spite of my annoying state I was able to do some great snorkeling and even watch some whales!
So as a first time experience it may not have been 100% enojoyable, but still, I don't regret doing it, even though three days later, my head still spins. I really have to thank Mr. Marshmallow for inviting me, taking care of me, and taking my hand for the hour and 45 minutes that we swam in the middle of the ocean, making me feel like Lois Lane flying with Superman. (I know, I'm a romantic) Anyway, HE is the Master now. You may call him...Captain.

When the time is right and the night is bright (8)...

The place: The Riverstage, Brisbane, Kangarooland
The date: July 22nd, 2006
Yes, my dear sinners, I took Mr. Marshmallow to his very first concert (sorry, Bryan Adams in Universal Studios doesn't count). For the very first time in his not so young life, Mr. Marshmallow enjoyed the jumping, the slamming, the surfing, the kicking, the screaming, plus the smell of pot from the neighbors. It was a greaaaaat night of sweat and great music by these three aussies that are teaching the world how to rock again the old fashion way. I dare to say that if these guys keep this way, in ten years they will be our very own modern legends.
The only complaint I might have about the concert is the lack of new songs from the band. But I forgive them. That's something that they will improve with time.
Anyway, besides Wolfmother we also had the chance to listen to the Swedish band Dungen, whose music was surprisingly good, although I got a little bit tired by the Robert Plant wannabe attitude of the vocalist Gustav Ejstes, but hey, I guess if you're a rockstar you're allowed some theatrics.
So, to summarize: Great gig, great night. Congratulations, Mr. Marshmallow on your baptism. May this be the beginning of a whole life filled with music.

Good news for sinners who love heroes

Some good news:

Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave), will be the one in charge of the Casino Royale's song. (Yes, praise the lord! No Beyonce, nor Britney or any other disposable artist) Anyway, I like the guy. Can't wait to hear the song...

And for all of you who loved JLU, Superman and Batman Animated, try not to fall off your feet, because according to Newsarama, DC just announced three upcoming animated movies: The New Frontier, Superman/Doomsday and New Teen Titans: The Judas Contract
And yes. Bruce Timm will be involved. And yes, each will be "faithful adaptations of the original stories"

Yeah baby! And who knows what will happen after that? Imagine your favorite comic turned into a good movie. Which comic would you chose? Damn... the possibilites are endless.
Ms. Mysterious officially happy.

Beam me up, JJ?

Tons of things to say, since Ms. Mysterious just arrived from her first sailing trip adventure. But before that behold trekers! Here's the teaster poster for the new JJ Abrams Star Trek movie, due in 2008. Will the trekers be redeemed? Will it finally be cool to be a trekie? (In the meantime, Mr. Marshmallow practices his klingon. One can never be too prepared)

No second chances?

everything you are
and everything you were
your number has been called
fights, battles have begun
revenge will surely come
your hard times are ahead

you've got to be the best
you've got to change the world
and you use this chance to be heard
your time is now

let yourself down
don't let yourself go
your last chance has arrived

Butterflies and Hurricanes by MUSE

Ms. Mysterious thought this would be a nice song for this particular moment in her life. She's going back to school. Maybe I'll take a year or so to save the money, but damn it I will. It is time to do something that I should have done long ago. It is time to change. To be strong.
You can't live your life dreaming of who you could have been or how different would life have been if you had followed certain path. No more regrets. My last chance has arrived.

So is it true there are no second chances? I am about to find out...

So it's my birthday....

Yes it was.. or is... this time zone thing makes my head hurt. See it's no longer my birthday here in Australia, but technically since I was born in the other side of the world, it still is, so... Happy Birthday to me :)
Anyway.. the wonderful Ms. and the mighty Rob gave me a kickass Nintendo DS Lite for my B-day with a copy of New Super Mario Bros. After scolding them both for spending that much money on my birthday gifts (seriously, don't do it again), I then decided to spend some more and get me a copy of Brain Age.

I'm saddened to report that I have a brain age of 44... I'm an old man... I'll keep you updated...

Oh yeah, for those of you who wish to know, we went to a wonderful japanese restaurant and then played some pool :)

ROOOOCKYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!! Tadadaaaaa (8) tada daaaaaaaah (8) . Here's the trailer!

Why? WHYYY!!? *sob* 106 days ...

Yes, I'm still mourning the "death" of Rose. No more Doctor and Rose, sinners... *sob*. And sadly I don't have much time today to cry about it and rant hopelessly on this blog, but I bumped into this post in agblog, which I found very interesting. I don't agree with everything but there are certain things that reaaally made me think..
If series one was about finding your way, about growing and becoming your own person, about discovering the wonders of life and charting your own path and all that, series two is almost about going backwards, about being a kid again, about reliving your old fantasy life with your dad alive and your happy little home and success and money and all those things you realized with the Doctor that you never really needed, that you can accept people for who they are and things for what they are and you can have back that past that you didn’t really want to begin with.

Hmm... There's something to think.. (or a way to get even more depressed of how things ended. Or changed. Or whatever) On the other hand, I have something less profound to rant about. Have you realized that Rose and the Doctor can't be together, and the world almost goes to hell because of.. MICKEY THE IDIOT?? Yes! He is the one that opens the ark!

*sigh* I'll try not to dwell on it. Anyway, just 106 days for The Christmas special *sob*, but before that we'll get Torchwood with John Borrowman. That could be interesting. And yes, they have an official site now, of an organization that doesn't exist.... and no, sorry to dissapoint you but there's nothing to see (at least not yet).
Damn.. I can't get my thoughts straight.. I can't help it! I can't stop thinking about... how MICKEY THE IDIOT SCREWED EVERYTHING (yeah, yeah, and Billie Piper didn't want to be on the series anymore, and it's just a show, but humor me. I'm talking about a stupid character, people. Let me curse him at least one last time)
DAMN YOU MICKEY!. (yes, I always hated him, can you tell?)

*Ms. Mysterious takes a deep breath* Now, that was therapeutic =)

It is indeed, Doomsday.

Rose is gone.
And I'm so depressed I can't even write. Goodbye Rose Tyler, wherever you are.

Behold, the BLOGWARS!!!!

On this corner is Ms. Mysterious, sexy, powerful and ahm..mysterious, trying to make the world a better place for people with good taste to live in. On the other corner is Rob, former Zdex, who just thinks that crappy plots are okay to watch as long as a guy flies.
(For those of you who just tuned in, I am complaining about this post made my Rob about the Superman Returns movie)
First of all, I totally agree, it was entertaining. I also had a good time. In fact I will be watching it again soon. It IS Superman after all. Having said this... I can't remain silent when I see someone writing "Is it Batman Begins good? Could be...". In NO way could it even be considered as being as good as Batman Begins. Period. Batman's character and mythology is totally respected and even raised to a totally different level for us geeks to love.

"He's afraid how many regular people are going to get hurt if he doesn't get the job done. Batman never thinks he has the weight of the world or even his city on his shoulders."
HELLO??!!!!! Batman doesn't even have a LIFE because he has the weight of the world on his shoulders. He's so eager to see justice done and help prevent people from suffering what he suffered, that he devoted his whole life to that. And no, he doesn't have superpowers as Superman. He bleeds. He dies, just like everyone of us, which show us just how committed to make the world a better and safer place to live in. So yes, I am sorry. The job gets him. Even more than to Superman.

And I'm not even going to talk about what you think of the kid and the piano scene and all that. Or maybe I will. Damn. "What I didn't like specifically? The piano scene. If they'd skipped that entirely and the only real "clue" that the kid was super was him spotting Superman in the water, that would've worked better with the reveal at the end."
Reveal? End? You're missing the whole point! Don't mind the piano scene and the mystery and revelations. It's just lame thing that Superman has a kid. PEEERIOD.
(and no, I have no problem with Supes having kids, but it took almost 60 years to finally getting him to marry. We could all have waited another 60 to finally let him had a kid. Just read my post about this.)

So yes, just as you, the movie entertained me too. It has some pretty awesome things. But it is not even close to be considered as good as Batman Begins. And it has big plot and character problems. But I guess you couldn't see that with those 3d lenses. Hmm...

Grabs popcorn, sits down and watches

Sorry, couldn't resist :)

Timelords don't waste time

Men. They change women as they often as they change socks. Yes, my dear sinners, Doctor Who has (officially) a new companion. Her name is Freema Agyeman and she already died last episode (Army of Ghosts). But don't worry, she's will portray a completely new character named Martha Jones.
I wonder if the producers realize that there are MORE actresses out there. (Yes, I know it's good to recycle but this is just too much) Sorry, but I just hate when they use the same actress for two different roles. *sigh* And Rose? She dies and the doctor gets a new companion just like that!
*sigh* I feel so betrayed.
I am Ms. Mysterious broken heart.
Kevin Spacey's multiple personalities

Now, THIS is Kevin Spacey at his best. I wonder why hasn't someone considered him to host the Academy Awards. Yup, THAT would be fun to watch. Anyway, enjoy =)

We all make choices. What's yours?

Zach Braff is slowly turning into a god. I loved Garden State and I have the feeling that his new movie, The Last Kiss, will soon become one of my favorites. Why? I guess he's just answering the questions of twenty-something Ms. Mysterious. Anyway, just watch the trailer.

PS. And no, I don't watch Scrubs. =)
