It's all happening!

There's so much that's been happening in the last week. I moved to Sydney, I've been looking for apartments almost everyday since I arrived, and living in a hostel, waiting 'till I finally get place I can call home. In the meantime, I'm starting Film School tomorrow!! Finally, the first step towards my dream is actually happening. I'm more than excited to see what the future holds for me.

And since I'm ranting about me, my dreams and all that crap, check the new Indiana Jones site, with new clips with one of the guys (or probably THE guy) that whose movies have inspired me, enough to start this new whole film school adventure. Mr. Spielberg, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy!

PS By the way, I love this pic. Karen Allen,Harrison Ford and Spielberg look awesome. A couple of wrinkles here and there but still kicking a$$!

The end of a wizard's tale...

It's Sunday afternoon, and Ms. Mysterious has finally wiped the remaining tears from her face. It was time to accept it; Harry Potter's adventures were over.
Yes, I've just finished reading JK Rowling's last and final book in the HP saga: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I won't spoil anything for you in case you haven't read it. I will just say it was a trip, and adventure, and that I, like many others, are happy to have being part of it, and yet sad to say goodbye to our favorite characters.
As I closed the book and all that I had just read finally sank in, it was sad to see how the magical world which I was immersed for the last day and a half, disappeared before my eyes... Reality seemed much more... real. Dumb, I know, but you catch my drift.

I still remember the first time I took a Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone in my hands. I wasn't (and maybe I'm still not ) an eager reader, but I decided to try a couple of pages of that book. I still remember how the magical world swept my off my feet by the first page. (A cat reading the newspaper?!). That was the beginning of so many adventures, that are now over... I'm pretty sure I will not forget this day, how as I read the last page, tears of joy and sadness fell through my cheeks. Yeah, yeah, I know it's a story after all, that it's all happening inside my head. But, as Dumbledore says, why on earth should that mean it is not real?

Anyway, Long live Harry Potter and his friends. I can't wait to see the rest of the movies. At least we still have that to look forward. And please, my dear sinners and muggles, don't forget to remember Hogwarts motto in years to come.

You never know when you might need it. =)

Turn it up to 11! (or not)

Well, Live Earth concerts are now over. No, I didn't attend to any of them. yes, I'm all in favor of saving the planet and all that. Yes, I also, LOVE concerts, music festivals and all that stuff.
I was able to watch some cool performances on the net, being my favorite venue none other than Wembley Stadium. It's official, Brits always get the best stuff.

I could perfectly picture myself jumping and crowd surfing while listening to Metallica, Block Party, RHCP and Foo Fighters, watching in awe living legends such as Genesis and yes, Spinal Tap, singin my heart out with James Blunt and Damien Rice, remembering my childhood while listening Duran Duran songs, and remembering my crush as a 8 year old with Simon Lebon ..

I'm pretty sure they were all awesome performances (no, I haven't seen them all), and that people had the time of their lives.
Having said that...

This wasn't the best of plans if you are really concerned in saving the planet.

I won't go into detail trying to make numbers of what the carbon emissions of the concert were. I have no idea. That's something you could ask to Mr. Marshmallow, not me. But definitely I'm not stupid (or at least not THAT stupid) to know that concerts of this magnitude are not the best way to adress the problem. How many people traveled to the concerts? How many took planes? Lots of the artists even arrived on their own private jet. Little details like that, make this whole Live Earth to be a wrong execution of a good idea.

What about making sessions with all these artists? (If you've seen Sessions at Abbey Road, you know what I mean) What about that? you record it, you transmit it through the net, create all your awareness ads and stuff. Then you could sell the whole DVD with all the performances plus a t-shirt and a bracelet or something like ONE campaign. (we ignorant but good people like that kind of stuff) Give away all the information/ awareness packages to schools. Give away the DVD on the street. Sell them for carbon credits. Plant a tree and get your DVD. I don't know, I'm surely NOT an expert, but still, there must be a better way to do this. We're so used to big music festivals supporting a cause, that we have learned to just ignore the cause and go to enjoy the music. Yeah, we feel all envirnomentalist while we're there, or we feel that we're actually making a difference by just being at the concert, but once we're back in our homes we just keep on living as it never happened.

Anyway, just ranting. Thanks for dropping by. Remember to turn off the lights on your way out. =)

For those about to rock, I salute you!

My dreams are about to come true... Finally, I'll be able to say goodbye to geekness and take my rightful place on earth as a Rockstar! I will ROCK!!... sort of..

Check this footage with a bunch of guys playing the really cool Rock Band game. Admit it. You want it.

The new companion...

Are you ready? So the new companion for Doctor Who in series 4 is...Catherine Tate.
.... ________ (please insert your applause or Boo. Whatever you feel like doing at this time)

Hmm...Half UK hates her as far as I know... So that's going to be interesting ha ha. Read all about it here. Of course if you have no idea who Doctor Who is well, then this post is totally pointless. Yeah, just keep doing what you're doing. Ignore me as usual. Move along.
