Cute Clark is back!!

Smallville's back! Season four finally continues with episode 11 "Unsafe".
Okay, there's a girl named Alicia (Remember her from s3ep14 "Obsession"? No? Me neither) that is released from the cuckoo's hospital and wants to have a relationship with Clark. I guess that means she's not so crazy anymore. Who wouldn't want a relationship with the man of steel?
So... That's basically episode 11.
....
.....
Yes, I know. Not very interesting to be honest. BUT, we have shirtless Clark again and we know now that Chloe had her first crazy night of passion and wild sex with... (Beware! SPOILER coming) JIMMY OLSEN!!!!. Sorry, I had to say it. That was really really cool, made Mr.Marshmallow and me laugh for a while (Yes, we find this amusing. We're geeks ) Also, it's funny to see how the show suddenly turns into a campaign to inform teenagers about sex. Oh, I felt so ... Old (heh, heh)

In the end, even though this is not a great episode, I gotta admit it's nice to have Clark back. Let's wait to see what the rest of this season will bring. Hopefully more Clark scenes without a shirt.. heh heh. God Bless TV!

My eyes! My eyes! Pastel colors invade TV!

I'm really convinced that ALIAS first three episodes from this season were just a nightmare. Yes. Definitely. Just an hallucination. Thank god everything's back to normal now.
"Welcome to Liberty Village" (ep.5) totally rocked. Imagine something like Pleasantville meets Stepford wives (that combined of course with a James Bond flick). Syd and Vaugh are in search of an electromagnetic weapon, so they pose as a suburban married couple in a terrible, abominable place where everyone wears pastel colors and women know how to cook! (Oh, the pain! The pain!). Nice episode, where, to be honest, nothing really important happens. It seems to me that Abrams is focusing in relationships right now, in developing the humanity of the characters. Hey, I can live with that :)

So, about that guy named Oscar...

Now that you've seen the Oscar nominations list, tell me. Did you find anything wrong? Annoying? Unexplainable? Well in case you didn't, you'll have to forgive me but I got a couple of things to complain about:

First of all, how can you have Finding Neverland nominated for Best Picture and ignore Alexander Payne (the director) ? Why isn't Eternal Sunshine for the spotless mind nominated for best picture? How can you have Thomas Haden Church (NED!!!??) for best supporting actor and ignore Paul Giamatti for best actor? The movie is basically about both of them! One cannot work without the other! Why isn't Sky Captain and the world of tomorrow nominated for best Visual Effects? Are The passion of the Christ and The sea inside really the best they could think of for makeup nominations? Does anyone even remembers The Village score? What happened with Farenheit 9/11 ,one of the most seen documentaries of all times? And Kinsey?
Anyway... I just remembered that this is how the Academy works.
My predictions? A bunch of Oscars for The Aviator (including best movie), Oscar for Clint Eastwood (Director), Jammie Foxx (best actor), Morgan Freeman (supporting role), Hillary Swank (best actress), Natalie Portman supporting role), The Incredibles for animated film (If Shrek 2 wins, heads will roll), Sideways (adapted screenplay), Eternal sunshine (original screenplay), and I, robot (visual effects).

So, this are my predictions. Any comments?
See you later, sinners. :)

Mirrormask trailer! Mirrormask trailer! My eyes fill with joy! My heart stops! A movie with Gaiman's twisted storytelling, plus Jim Henson Company visuals, plus the guy that made The Sandman covers, Dave Mckean, directing it. You just got to loove it. I feel so happy now :)

God exists!!

YEEHAAA!! Hurray for J.J. Abrams! I just saw ALIAS, (season 4,episode 4 ' "Détente") and let me give you some good news, sinners: Sydney's back!

Apparently, J.J. has been reading my blog (don't deny it J.J. I know you love it) and decided to write a good episode for a change. Sydney's fighting abilities are back. Vaughn remembered that his life sucks (you know, his wife was an evil witch and he killed her), and we have creepy weapons of mass destruction to remind us how lucky we are to have the A.P.O. guys saving our puny little lives.

Things are falling back to place again...I can breathe now.

She's back! She's meaner! She's...Ms.Mysterious *applause please*

I need vacations. NOW. Things have been pretty crazy this last couple of weeks. Mr.Marshmallow left (AGAIN), leaving Ominipotent Puedquito drowning in our sorrow and loneliness. My body and mind beg me to write again in this half-forgotten blog. I love my blog. I love to say stupid things. I love to think, even if it's just for a little while, that someone out there actually takes the time to read it. So, hopefully this week, things will get back to normal. I'm still trying to keep up with my new job, but I guess I'm about to get a grip on things.

In the meantime, I need to get a couple of things out of my system:
About Elektra...Ms. Garner I hope you have a plan B if this acting thing doesn't work out.
Is not that Elektra is a bad movie but...It's not a good movie either. It's better than Catwoman, that's for sure. It has nice visual effects, some nice choreographies and Jennifer Garner sure looks mean when she's kickin' evil butts.
Having said this, it's a pity that no one could think of a better story. The pace is slow, and the whole magical plot is not very convincing. What's interesting about Elektra is that she's a simple human that can fight and win everyone with her eyes closed. The lady knows how to do things! So why, oh why, Hollywood is so interested in changing every aspect of Marvel and DC characters? This characters, both superheros and villains, have survived decades just as they are! Just pick a good comic serie and voila! There's your movie. You can even use the comic as storyboard! Yeah, yeah. I complain a lot. I'm sorry. I just can't believe how someone manages to ruin a story with so much good material available around (I guess this is one of those questions I'll have to ask God if I ever get to meet him).

Sinners, don't despair! There's still hope on this earth! If you want to watch something interesting and nicely done, try Battlestar Galactica. I just had the opportunity to watch Episodes 1 and 2 (yeah, I know I'm way behind) and I got impressed by the visual effects, and most of all how interesting and human the characters are. If you've seen it, tell me about it. I want to know if it gets better ;)...If you haven't you should. I heard around that it having better ratings than Enterprise. Sorry my dear trekies. I'm quite fond of klingons and cute Federation captains, but if you don't make something fast, Enterprise will be lost in oblivion. And we don't want that, do we? We need good science fiction TV shows. We need to show the world that geeks rule! So wake up!!! Write good stories! Go where no one has gone before and take us to interesting and new, far away places!!
Oh..it's good to be back :D

Friday, January 14, 2005

Oh, my poor broken heart!

Oh, ALIAS, ALIAS! Where have you gone, my beautiful and inspiring ALIAS?
What's happening with J.J. Abrams? Yeah, I know the guy is definetely NOT perfect (just remember: Lex Luthor from Krypton??!!!), but after having 6 months to think an interesting plot for Alias, he gives us THIS??!
Sorry, I'm offended by the TV show's idiot plot. Let just point out a couple of things:

First of all, who the HELL would be stupid enough to put Sloane in charge again? The guy is a manipulator, treacherous S.O.B. He is a traitor to it's own country! He even was executed! (okay, he survived but that's beyond the point). So, the guy's in charge again while Jack, Sydney, Dixon and Marshall follow his orders. Again.
Is it just me or this sounds too familiar? THIS is stuff from the first season! We are way beyond that! Where's the struggle now? Sloane is one of the "good" guys (for the time being), so, what's the point?
And I really have to complain also about the stupid, stupid plot that's going on between Jack, Sydney and Nadia (her half-sister). Sydney calls Jack a liar because he didn't told Nadia the truth about who killed her mother. BUT Sydney lied to her also, so what's she whining about??!!!
GOD! PATIENCE!!!!!

I'll stop complaining now. I feel a small hear-attack coming. Let's pray for things to get better.

Yeap. More excuses.

Patience sinners, patience. It's been a busy week. I'm still adjusting to my new job (hopefully they won't realize I suck 'till the end of the semester), and I'm preparing to say good-bye (again) to Mr. Marshmallow man. So, I'm really sorry I haven't posted anything regularly, but don't worry! Soon I'll be alone with this beautiful blog and stupidity will rule again! So, see you soon. Be prepared for my return!

I saw this picture a couple of days ago. I believe it was this month's cover for Vanity Fair magazine. I don't know, I found pretty cool the idea of taking a picture of ALL the Star Wars cast together...Until someone told me that they were never together. That they took the picture in parts and then used some photoshop and presto!. Can't these guys do anything normal? Nice picture though... Posted by Hello

Oh yeah. This is a movie I'm dying to see. Hitchiker's guide to the galaxy teaser poster ladies and gentlemen... And in case you haven't heard yet. Alan Rickman will do Marvin's voice. There is a God out there :) Posted by Hello

My Alias: Ms. Excuses

I know. I know. I'm not writing as much as usual. I'm starting a new job tomorrow and I've been quite busy trying to hide how unsuitable I'm for the job (I'll be a high school teacher, just imagine that). Also, Mr. Marshmallow man leaves in nine days, so this next week I'll be giving all those hugs and kisses that I won't give him 'till may or June that we see each other again.
Yeah, I'm a hopeless romantic. Sue me.

So, I saw ALIAS Episodes 1 & 2 - "Authorized Personnel Only", and let me tell you that after almost six months (?) without Sydney Bristow's adventures I was pretty excited to watch her and all the cast together again. I'm not going to spoil you the fun of watching it (in case you haven't) but to be honest, these first two episodes were not what I expected, and the ending was...Cheesy. I thought for a moment I was watching a cartoon. Ok no more complaining. Now the good things: Loved the new set. Loved how J.J. Abrams twisted the story all over again. Loved to see the tension between the characters. The bitterness. The love- hate situation. Oh, just like old times.
Anyway, I got a feeling that the fist four, five chapters are going to be quite mediocre, but after that, things will get back on track. I HOPE. I want an ALIAS interesting, with intelligent twists, explosions, gizmos and good fight choreographies. So please, please Mr. Abrams, don't screw it up! We need action! We need good bad guys! We need Alias as it used to be in seasons one and two! I want to be addicted again! AAAAALIAAAAS...AAAALIAAAAS....AAAAAALIAAAS

Please watch it. Hear it. And bow before them. Yes, Led Zeppelin is just one of those bands that I still get amazed when I hear their songs. Powerful music you just need to listen over and over again. This is one of the best music dvd's I've ever watched. It has aprox. 230 minutes of concert footage plus interviews). And please check out Jimmy Page's violin bow work on Dazed and Confused.... Pure and absolute bliss. Bow to the masters! Posted by Hello

V for Vendetta teaser poster, based on the comic by Alan Moore and David Lloyd. READ THIS COMIC. NOW. I command thee, sinners!  Posted by Hello

Quickies.

Some fast news. Some good some bad. Let's start with the bad news.
- Britney Spears wants to direct a movie. I know, it's stupid and who cares really?. But I wanted you to realize that there's an baaad and evil world out there.
Now, here are the good news:
- Frank Miller, Jim Lee. Batman and Robin All stars. Summer. Oh yeah.
- V for vendetta!! The movie!!! If you haven't read the comic, do it. Right now. One of my favorite comics by Alan Moore and David Lloyd V..Tells the story of a guy that fights against the injustice of an oppressive political system, in an England that survived a terrible war. The Wachowski Brothers (Matrix) have written the screenplay and Natalie Portman's going to be in it.
- And last, but not least...ALIAS!!! TONIGHT!!!! WHEEEEE!!!!!! I'll tell you tomorrow how incredible it was...muahahaha.

That's it for now, but before I go to watch "Closer" with Mr. Marshmallow man, here's tonight song: Constant Craving by K.D. Lang. Oldie but goodie. Just heard it on the radio and man, it's just..Beautiful. Timeless. Oh luv luv...Heh Heh.

Praise Ms. Mysterious and her 2004 top 5 comics!

So, another humble list by yours truly. These are some of the titles that made my life considerably more interesting and fun. Again, I know there are tons of comics are worth mentioning, but remember, here at Numbtown everything is... Complicated. Anyway, here they are, some of my favorite comics of 2004 (thank God for TP).

Best 2004 comics:
- 1602
- Y: The last man
- Batman/Superman
- Sleeper
- Superman: Secret Identity

Again, if someone is reading this, Ms. Mysterious will be more than honored to know what YOU like. (That goes to you Mr.Marshmallow man)
See ya later Posted by Hello

-Blessed are the forgetful, for they get the better even of their blunders-
Scene from Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, one of Ms. Mysterious favorite 2004 flicks...
Posted by Hello

Hail Ms. Mysterious! My top 5 movies of 2004

A small and humble list of the movies I liked back in 2004. I know there are lots of good movies out there but , a) I don't remember them (I'm like Dory in Finding Nemo) , or b) I haven't seen them yet (Movies take a little longer to arrive here at Numbtown)
This 5 movies are imaginative, visually impressive, have great narrative and performances. (Yeah, the guys from The Incredibles are not real. But actors DO have to do the voices you know?)
So here they are, (in no particular order) :
- Spiderman 2
- Big Fish
- The Incredibles
- Garden State
- Sky Captain and the world of tomorrow

- Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind

I'm still waiting to see Million Dollar baby and A very long engagement. Hopefully I'll get to watch them soon. In the meantime I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that Batman Begins, and Hitchikers guide to the galaxy will be great movies. Otherwise, heads will roll.
So, this was my humble list. If I there's someone outhere reading this, and you have some other movie in mind, you're welcome to refresh my mind.
See you around , sinners!

2005: Holy year of pizza

2005. A new year, full of possibilities and love and ... Who am I kidding?! It's the same thing as always. Ok, instead of being 2004, is 2005. Big deal. It's the same as always. You learn to live day by day, you try to learn from your mistakes, and you hope that this year will have less shitty things to deal with. You hope, (just like you do everyday of your life) that your life will be good. That you'll stay sane. That the bond with your friends will become stronger. That you won't become a really really really stupid person. That you'll find the peace you need in your soul.
So this year I'll try something different. I'll do the same most of you do. Look back and meditate about the things that happened and learn from it. *Ms. Mysterious takes a few seconds and remembers...*

Hmm... So this is what I learned:
- Stupid girls don't now how to drive (avoid confrontation at all cost)
- Modern medicine is not so modern. No one can cure a simple cold.
- If you eat a lot, you get fat.
- If you go on a long vacation, don't return to your hometown. If you return, buy prozac. Tons of it.
- Saying what you think (sometimes) will get you in a lot of trouble. So, say what you think, and reward yourself with a pizza or an ice- cream.
- Don't spend too much time or money in how you look. Sooner or later a stupid hairdresser will do exactly the opposite of what you wanted him to do.
- When your boyfriend asks you where he should study always answer: LONDON (okay, you can change it to the name of the country you would love to visit/live)
And the most important thing: In every phrase you say, add the words -IN BED-. Life will be much more interesting that way.
So this is what I learned -in bed- this year. What will happen next? I don't know. It will be as always. One day -in bed- at a time.
Oh, and one little thing. I just want to tell my friends that I realize that I'm pretty stupid -in bed- most of the time. Thanks for sticking around :)
So, see ya later -in bed-, Sinners! Enjoy this new year.
